Abstract :
Background: Cancer is a significant problem in modern medicine, also is the most common cause of death after cardiovascular diseases, and in need of targeted drug release. Although, chemotherapy is an important candidate in cancer treatment, but it has many side effects on healthy tissues of the body. Methods: Cisplatin nanoparticles were produced by reverse phase evaporation method and their properties were evaluated. We examined the effects of cisplatin nanoparticles and free form of cisplatin on BT-20 cancer cell line. MTT assay has been performed for different concentrations of the drug. Results: We found that cisplatin nanoparticles in all concentrations had more cytotoxic effect on the cells comparing with free form of cisplatin. Conclusion: Overall, these findings proved that cisplatin loaded on poly niosomal nanoparticles which is made by our method is more efficient than the free form of cisplatin in treating BT-20 cancer cell line.
