Abstract :
Algae have been described as more than lt;br / gt;1800 genera and 2100 species which are different lt;br / gt;in terms of the biology, size, structure, lt;br / gt;and physiology. In this study, the phytoplankton lt;br / gt;populations of 15 khordad dam reservoir in lt;br / gt;Qom Province were determined. Four sampling lt;br / gt;sites were selected for this study. Sampling was lt;br / gt;carried out from January 2014 to June 2015 to lt;br / gt;assess algal flora and frequency of phytoplanktons. lt;br / gt;The results showed that Phytoplankton lt;br / gt;assemblage comprised several taxa from Diatomaceae lt;br / gt;(41.1%), Dinoflagellaceae (32.5%), lt;br / gt;Chlorophyceae (23.2%) and Cyanophyceae lt;br / gt;(3.2%). Among identified taxa, Cyclotella from lt;br / gt;Diatomaceae, Peridinium from Dinoflagellaceae, lt;br / gt;Chlorella from Chlorophyceae and Oscillatoria lt;br / gt;from Cyanophyceae being the predominant lt;br / gt;genera in each phylum. The maximum lt;br / gt;and minimum frequencies were recorded at one lt;br / gt;meter depth in west side edge during June and lt;br / gt;at five meter depth in the east side edge of the lt;br / gt;reservoire during December, respectively.
