A PARTIALLY α-CONTRACTIVE PRINCIPLE

In this paper, we introduce the partially α-contractive mapping in a partial metric space and we prove the existence of a fixed point for such mapping. Since we are working in partial metric space our main theorem generalizes many results in the Banach contraction principle on the existence of a fixed point.
