  • Abstract
    We report a case of acute encephalitis associated with transient MR signal intensities in the spleni-um of the corpus callosum (MERS; clinically mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion) caused by influenza A virus. The case was a 6-yr-old girl was referred to Dok-kyo Medical University Hospital, Shimotsuga, Japan for persistent coma after cluster febrile sei-zure in winter season. Using rapid antigen test, she was diagnosed with influenza type A infec-tion 6 days earlier.
