Abstract :
The American Diabetes Association has opened a
dysglycemic category termed “prediabetes”. This category
includes subjects with fasting blood sugar levels of between
100 and 125 mg/dL or glycated hemoglobin A1c levels of
between 5.7% and 6.4% or 2-hour post-glucose loads (75
g) of between 140 and 199 mg/dL.1 This category has been
taken into consideration in cardiovascular disease research,
including the cardiac imaging field. On the other hand, the
right ventricular (RV) function has been a focal point in
some investigations.
