Abstract :
The Iranian Society of Parasitology (ISP) held the
eleventh National and the fourth International
Congress of Parasitology (NICOPA 11) in Urmia,
Iran, on October 9-11, 2019 (Figure 1). The event was
held in memory of Professor Khosrow Hazrati Tappeh,
the scientific secretary of the congress (Figure 2).
The conference was started with the message from
Dr. Saeed Namaki, the Minister of Health and Medical Education, which was read by Professor Javad Aghazadeh,
the Congress President. In the following, Dr. Habib
Mohammadzadeh, Deputy of Chair-Scientific Committee
of the fourth International and eleventh National Congress
of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases had a welcome
message in which he also proposed a report on the selection
process of abstracts for the congress. The congress opening
was continued by Professor Thomas Romig, president
of European Federation of Parasitologists, who talked
about the ways of communications between Iranian and
European parasitology researchers.
