EDITORIAL

It is a pleasure to present this first issue of Turkish Journal of Physics in 2010, consisting of some research articles selected after a delicate review process. I would like to emphasize the fact that scientific journals are so important that transformation of knowledge between the authors and readers results in sustainable development of science and technology. As a result, achievements in science and technology reinforce mankind to modify or entirely change the philosophical and methodological concepts. As we are aware, some new ideas and perspectives towards physical phenomena were so successfully introduced and developed up to the mid 20th century that the great physicists such as Planck, Einstein, Bohr, de Broglie, Heizenberg, Schrödinger and Born provided great insights to mankind who could hardly ever imagine a better understanding of the microscopic nature and therefore matter as a whole.
