Abstract :
The genus Lophanthus Adans. is recorded for the first time from Turkey. Specimens collected from Vanprovince, east Anatolia, are described here as the new species Lophanthus turcicus Dirmenci, Yildiz Hedge. Diagnostic characteristics that distinguish it from allied species are presented; a description, distribution map, and taxonomiccomments are given.
