Abstract :
A study of bat parasites was carried out in the beginning of June until October 2001 in Beseri Jaya and Timah Tasoh, Perlis, in northern Peninsular Malaysia. During that period, 85 bats from 3 species were collected. The species were Cynopterus brachyotis, Eonycteris spelaea and Rousettus amplexicaudatus from the Pteropodidae family. Regarding parasites, the only ectoparasite found was the bat flies, and they were from the family of Nycteribiidae and Streblidae. The highest infection was in R. amplexicaudatus. A cestode, an endoparasite was found in E. spelaea.
