Abstract :
Abstract. Thisstudyinvestigatedtheeffectoftaskrepetitionon the writtenlanguageproductioninTBLT,focusingontheIranianEFL learners’performanceatthepre-intermediate.Theparticipantsofthe study,whoseproficiencylevelwasprovedbytheinstituteentrance exam,were40studentsselectedfromtheBastanLanguageInstitute, Shiraz,Iran.Theacademicboardoftheinstitutedesignedandvalidated the test.Itincludeddifferentparts:interview,pronunciation,transla- tion, andreadingtest.Theyweredividedintotwogroupsofcontrol and experimental.Apretest,includingatestofwritingbasedonthe AmericanEnglishFile1book,wasadministeredtobothgroups.The controlgroupwastreatedwiththeregularprogramwhiletheexperi- mentalgroupreceivedthetaskrepetitioninstruction.Then,therewas the posttest(thesameasthepretest)forbothgroups.Thedataofthe presentstudywereanalyzedusingtheSPSSsoftwareversion20.De- scriptivestatistics,thetestofNormality,andpairedsamplest-testswere run toanalyzetheobtaineddata.Theresultsofthestudyshowedthe positiveeffectoftaskrepetitionusingTBLTinthelanguagelearners’ writtenlanguageproduction.EFLteachers,EFLlearners,andsyllabus designerscanbenefitfromtheresultsofthispaper.
