Abstract :
This paper presents the results of the application of phosphate glass with the addition of Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu in the production of Capsicum annuum L. pepper plants. This experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Belgrade and in the village of Slankamen during 2011. The pepper plants were grown in polystyrene containers and polypropylene pots. During the production of the plant seedlings the following glass treatment doses were used: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 g/l. After transplanting in an open field (in Slankamen) the effect of the phosphate glass doses on the following properties of pepper plant development were examined: height, leaf number, weight of leaves, number of lateral branches, plant weight, weight and length of roots, number of fruits and weight and length of fruits. The results of this research indicate that the use of phosphate glass in the production of pepper results in good plant development. The best effect of all of the examined parameters of pepper development was found in the phosphate glass dose of 3 g/l of substrate. The obtained results indicate a need for further research on the effect of phosphate glass in the production of different vegetable crops.
