Abstract :
Unless following standard practice guidelines, anesthesiologists are exposing themselves, their patients and their community to a wide range of infection risk each time they are providing care for a patient. Each patient should be dealt with as a potential risk for the healthcare givers, for the equipment and subsequently for the next series of patients. The risk ranges from simple to serious bacterial or viral caused illness. This should be the view for each patient even those who looks or even laboratory reported as “healthy”, as the incubation periods for some serious pathogens lags for several months. The awareness of how serious and fatal infectious diseases may be should increase among healthcare workers specially anesthesiologists population.
