Abstract :
Objective and Aim of Work: Our study aimed to assess the effects of using single monthly dose of intravenous cyclophosphamide administered to patients having Behcet s disease, in three doses before cataract surgery, and another three doses following the surgery.Methods: 15 Behcet s disease patients (3 females and 12 males) did phacoemulsification with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Cyclophosphamide was given in monthly bolus dose of lOmg/kg by iv in lOOOcc normal saline over 90 minutes period. The dose was repeated for 3 months before the surgery, and another 3 months following surgery.
