Abstract
Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is an entity that is widely feared and yet rarely encountered. In hospitals with multiple operating rooms where potent inhalation agents and succinylcholine are commonly used, the occurrence of an MH episode is anticipated. We describe a case of acute onset of an MH episode in which a child underwent general anesthesia for laparoscopic surgical procedure for staging of bilateral un-descended testes. This case report describes the identification and management of this life-threatening condition.
