Abstract :
Objective: To determine the effect of uterine anomalies in the pregnant outcome in assistant reproductive treatment. Material and Methods: Retrospective study in Mohamed Fares centre and Mohamed Abdou centre between December 2005 and January 2008 to calculate the incidence of pregnancy rate in patients who have uterine abnormalities. Twenty three patients had different uterine abnormality undergone 31ICSI cycle and incidence of clinical pregnancy, incidence of implantation rate and Miscarriage rate and home-taking baby rate. Results: This study looked at 23 subjects who underwent 31 IVF cycles. Using their own historical data, we found that overall clinical pregnancy (37.3% in uterine malformations Vs. 38.8% in controls) and implantation rates (17.5% in uterine malformations Vs. 13.0% in controls) were similar. Conclusion: Uterine anomalies have an effect in pregnant outcome in ART whoever it is small study. In general, the role of IVF needs to be better evaluated, with studies including a larger number of subjects. IVF pregnancy rates appear to be decreased not because of decreased number or quality of eggs obtained but rather because of the uterine anomaly itself.
