Abstract :
The concept of home health care is a new innovative concept and the philosophy of providing health care to those who need it in their homes. While it is growing rapidly, home health care providers are yet not enough to cover the community needs in Saudi Arabia. Aim of the Study: Was to determine the effect of training program on a group of Saudi female as a home health care provider. Design: Quisi-experimental design was used in this study. Setting: This study was conducted in: • Home health care Laboratory, College of Nursing, Dammam University (4 weeks). • Primary health care center, Family and community Health Care Center (4 weeks). • Gulf Girl Charity nursery school (4 weeks). • Home visits for some homes connected with Gulf Girl Charity association for observation (4 weeks). Subjects: 30 Saudi females prepared as health care provider were participated in this study. Tools: Two tools were used in this study: • Tool I: Knowledge Assessment Tool It was developed based on the recent literature. • Tools II: Observational Skills was developed to assess the candidates competences. Results: Training program was very effective beneficial for the trainees. The group of 30 Saudi females passed the training program with unexpected high grades.
