Quality of Work Life and Horizontal Violence among Staff Nurses

This descriptive co-relational Study was conducted to assess the relationship between quality of work life and horizontal violence among staff nurses. The study was conducted in Port-Said General Hospital. The sample composed of 118 staff nurse. Data were collected through two tools. The first tools aimed at identifying the staff nurses level of quality of work life; it has included 42 items. The second tool was utilized to measure the level of horizontal violence among staff nurses. It has included 16 items. The present study revealed that the majority of staff nurses satisfied with their work life and experiencing low horizontal violence. Moreover, the study finding illustrated that there is a statistically significant Correlation between horizontal violence and quality of work life among the staff nurses (p!90.05). According to the foregoing results, the researchers recommended that, The Health Care Organization should adopt zero tolerance policies that include appropriate investigation and due process necessary to provide adequate safeguards to nurses and others who are accused of horizontal violence.
