Abstract :
Background and Purpose: Aerobic exercise training for patients with diabesity improves physical status, restores endothelial function and increase muscle strength so the effects of three months aerobic exercise training on liver enzymes (Alanine-Aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate-Aminotransferase (AST)) in patients with diabesity were studied. Patients and Methods: Forty men non-alcoholic fatty liver diseased patients with diabesity with age of 40-60 years were included in the present study. Their body mass index were ranged from 30 to 39.9kg/m^2 (Class I and II of obesity). They were randomly divided into two groups; each group consisted of twenty patients. The study group (Group A) received a program of aerobic exercise training (40-50min, aerobic exercises, three times/week) with low calorie diet (1500cal/d) and the control group (Group B) that received only low-calorie diet (1500cal/d), both groups were under their medical treatment prescribed by the physician. The biochemical changes in liver enzymes (ALT) and (AST)) were measured at the beginning of the study and after twelve weeks. Results: Showed that a program of aerobic exercise with low calorie diet had greater effect to significantly decrease (ALT) and (AST)) (-15.89%) (-15.8) respectively, while the control group showed non statistical significant reduction. Conclusion: A program of aerobic exercise training with low calorie diet showed significant reduction in liver enzymes (ALT) and (AST)) which considered as an important indicator in progression of hepatic diseased patients with diabesity.
