Abstract :
Objective: To demonstrate role of thoracic ultrasonography in evaluation of chest diseases. Patients and Methods: This study included 40 patients with their ages ranged between 2 to 76 years old (mean age 44.93 years) 23 (57.5%) males and 17 (42.5%) females. Patients were referred if clinically presented by (dyspnea, cough with fever, chest pain, chest wheeze, expectoration, hemoptysis and cyanosis) and/or chest X-ray lesions. They were subjected to chest radiography, US of the chest and CT chest. Results: Chest sonography shows high sensitivity in diagnosis of different chest pathology and has emerged in recent years as a very promising technique for detection different lung and pleural pathological states. Appropriate training on chest ultrasonography is needed to ensure proper application and interpretation of this technique.
