Literature Review of Interactive Cross Language Information Retrieval Tools

The unprecedented rise of multilingual resources afforded by the exponential web growth demands the development of communication technologies in order to eliminate the barriers between languages. More comprehensive tools to overcome such barriers, such as machine translation and cross-lingual information retrieval applications, are nowadays in strong demands. In this paper, we present an overview of the literature of interactive Cross Language Information Retrieval (CLIR) tools and discuss their limitations. In addition, possible future research directions of interactive CLIR tools are discussed.
