Abstract :
Time and stress management plays an important role in postgraduate students’ life as it can assist them in achieving success while pursuing their study in university. This paper reports on a study that examined the level of time management and stress among 301 post graduates students pursuing a Master degree in the Faculty of Education at two public universities. Data was collected using two set of questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, regression and Pearson correlation. The result showed that the level of time management and stress among the respondents was moderate. The result of t-test showed that there was a significant difference time management based on gender. Time management however, was not significantly different based on marital status and mode of study. The findings on the other hand revealed that there was a significant difference between stress level and marital status but not with gender and mode of study. Result of Pearson correlation showed a significant relationship between the time management and stress. Overall, this study suggests that stronger emphasis is placed on time and stress management skills at the university in order to focus its effort to produce highly skilled and professional human capital.
