Abstract :
This article presents research findings regarding development agendas of some public universities in Malaysia and their different actions in pursuing the agendas. The research was based on the central-peripheral theory of development and learning organization theory. The research employed the survey method involving 715 respondents comprising faculty administrators and top university management officers at 10 public universities. Findings from this research reveal that the high priority agendas are quality instruction and learning, expansion of the post-graduate study programmes, academic excellence, publicity and promotion of post-graduate programmes, student welfare programmes, and quality university management.
