Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine the levels and factor that contributed tostress among secondary schools teachers. Approximately 400 teachers from 16 schoolfrom Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor were selected by using cluster ofcluster in this study. The data were collected through questionnaire, which consists ofwork overload, interpersonal relationship and environment workplace (AdminstrativeStress Index, ASI) and Emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation and personalachievement (General Health Questionaire, GHQ). The Alpha Cronbach for this twoinstnunents were 0.7514 and 0.8827. As conclusion, the result of the study shows thatthere are no differences between these factors if tested on teachers gender. Teachersreported that their stress level were only in moderate level. Personal achievement factorwas the most influential in contributing to the self stress. Study results also shows thatthere were no significant relationship between stress factors and age, number of childrenand teachers experience, however personal achievement factor still have something to dowith experience.
