Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine teacher s job satisfaction based on (a) payment, (b) work load, and (c) working environment among the special education teachers according to gender, years of teaching experience and the highest special education qualifications. The sample consisted of 115 special education teachers in selected primary and secondary schools in Perlis, Malaysia. Data on job satisfaction is a translated version of Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (TJSQ). The instrument consists of 66 items ranges from nine subscales i.e supervision, colleagues, working conditions, payment, responsibility, work itself, advancement, security and recognition.Data was analayzed by using t-test and ANOVA test. The finding shows there are no significant mean differences in job satisfaction based on various factors studied namely payment, work load and working environment.
