Abstract :
The participatory democracies potentially have a high-quality economic growth. The participatory democracy and freedom can affect individuals’ lifestyles and their attitudes in a society. Similarly, they can contribute to the creation of institutional structure and economic activities. From this perspective, democracy, economic freedom and fighting against corruption are the strongest factors affecting the economic growth. Many studies examining the relationship between democracy, economic freedom, corruption and economic growth have found their positive impact. This study analyzes the impact of democracy, economic freedom and corruption on the economic growth for Turkey during the period between 1980 – 2015. For the empirical study of this paper, the Granger causality analysis. According to the consequences of this analysis, it has been realised that there is a causality between economic freedom and economic growth. However, there is no direct causal relations between democracy, economic freedom, corruption and economic growth.
