Abstract :
A total of 51 taxa of pteridophytes in 30 genera and 18 families have been recorded in the Angsi Forest Reserve, Negeri Sembilan. This includes eight species of lycophytes in two genera and two families. This figure represents eight percent of the 647 species of pteridophytes reported for Peninsular Malaysia. Selaginellaceae and Pteridaceae are the largest families with seven species respectively followed by Polypodiaceae (six species) and Tectariaceae (four species). Terrestrial ferns are the most abundant i.e. 60% of all the taxa collected followed by epiphytic ferns (24%) and epilithic ferns (16%).
