  • Abstract
Development of knowledge workers in high-tech industries areas (technopoles) is a global agenda. A technopole will continue to grow only when they are capable of successfully developing their own knowledge workers. The present article aims at identifying the forms of cooperation in the development of knowledge workers between two industrial zones namely Bandung High-Tech Valley (BHTV) in Indonesia and Malaysian Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in Malaysia. The method employed in this study was based on smart collaboration (CQ) and SWOT (strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis was used to asses the levels and benefits of cooperation. Result of the analysis showed that there are strenghts and opportunities for strategic networking to take place. The SMEs in both BHTV and MSC industrial areas need to overcome weaknesses and threats that they face by fostering a culture of consensus strategic networking and smart collaboration (CQ).
