Abstract :
The present article attempted to investigate the profile of Banjar thinking in terms of personality, views on the progress of the world, entrepreneurship and loyalty to the country. A questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain a profile of their thoughts. Measurement of personality, views on the progress of the world, entrepreneurship and loyalty to the country was administered to 300 Banjar descent. Respondents consisted of 257 descendants of Banjar in Malaysia and 43 descendants of Banjar in Indonesia. Through descriptive statistical analysis, we found the level of thinking in terms of personality amongst the people of Banjar are at a high level (78.02), while in terms of views on the progress of the world is at a moderate level (67.12), the aspect of entrepreneurship is at a high level (71.23), and the aspect of loyalty to the country is also at a high level (87.25). Overall, the index of the level of Banjar thinking is high (75.96). Results of t tests showed significant differences in views on the progress of the world (t = 2200, p 0.05) between the Banjar in Malaysia (mean 85.37) and in Indonesia (mean 81.07). Likewise, t tests showed significant differences in terms of entrepreneurship (t = 8542, p 0.05) between the Malaysian Banjar (mean = 39.61) and Indonesian Banjar (mean 31.71). But in terms of personality and loyalty to the country, t tests showed no significant difference between Banjar in Malaysia and in Indonesia. By using two-way ANOVA test and a three-way ANOVA, it showed a significant diference between levels of personality by countries, residence and gender (F = 6728, p 0.05), and with two-way ANOVA test, we found that the levels of entrepreneurship are significantly diferent between the country of living (F = 7818, p 0.05), and it also showed that the levels of loyalty are significantly diferent between country and place of residence (F = 7738, p 0.05). Researchers hope these findings can contribute ideas to improve the life of Banjar, and thus improving the standard of living of the Banjar people throughout the Nusantara.
