  • Abstract
Leadership development programme has come to be regarded as a strategic matter in contemporary human resource development. In organizational contexts this trend has led to the adoption of various initiatives by employers to enact a paradigm shift in HRD from the traditional approach that was job-based to one based on organizational goals, culture and strategies. The study measures the relationship between leadership development programmes and leaders’ job performance with reference to Malaysia’s military leaders. A survey method was employed to gather data from ten core infantry army leaders. Results of hypothesis testing using Smart Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS) path model analysis confirms that in contrast to course content, trainer’s role and management support do act as important predictors of military leaders’ job performance.
