Abstract :
Mangrove ecosystem is influenced by the tide condition in shelter area along the tropical and subtropical coastal line. This ecosystem has important role both in physical and biologycal aspects of coastal ecosystem. The research was conducted at Pasar Banggi Village, Rembang. The objective of this research was to investigate the characteristic as soil which support primary productivity mangrove area. Method used was Allen for organic material analysis, hydrometer Bouyoucos method for soil texture, and Lorenzen method for chlorophyll analysis. The highest chlorophyll content was found at station I with 0.405 Nm/ cm3 while at station II is 0.328. Nm/ Cm3 The result for sediment micro flora analysis showed that abundance at station I is 68.08 % and at station II is 60.31 %. The results also showed that sand dominated the soil texture with the highest value at station I with 85.14 %. Rhizopora apiculata and Rhizopora stylosa were found at station I. While, at station II 3 species of mangrove were found i.e. Rhizopora mucronata, Rhizopora stylosa, and Avicennia marina, with the highest domination is Rhizopora mucronata. The organic material content at station II was higher than station I. Meanwhile, pH range and soil temperature at both stations not too different, which mean pH is neutral and soil temperature is stabile.
