Abstract :
This paper highlights an experimental investigation upon the convective heat transfer and friction features of Carbon nanotube based nanofluid by means of a circular tube fixed with helical screw tape’s insertion with constant heat flux which is in irregular (Turbulent) flow condition. The nanofluids of 0.1% and 0.2% volume fractions are made available through a two step method. Besides, the helical screw tape’s insertion with twist ratios Y = 3, 2.44 and 1.78 is used. As a result of it, the Reynolds number position becomes changeable from 10000 to 22000.When there is average quality value in Nusselt number for 0.1% and 0.2% in a clean tube, respective and volume fractions of nanofluids are 9.58% and 14.72% available in comparison with deionized water. With the use of insertion, the normal quality values in Nusselt number corresponding to twist ratios 1.78, 2.44 and 3 are 30.11%, 19.44% and 17.53% for 0.1% available for volume fraction from nanofluid and 34.84%, 23.85% and 21.76% are available for 0.2% volume fraction of nanofluid in comparison with deionized water in a clean tube. The empirical correlations formed in terms of twist ratio, volume fraction and Reynolds number are quite acceptable with the experimental data within a limit of +- 15% exclusively for Nusselt number and friction factor
