Abstract :
The environment, as natural habitat and social habitat, provides humans’ every need in order to develop their capability to live and socialise. Population growth suppresses the environment’s capability so a restriction and scarcity in the fulfilment of needs can occur. The competition which happens in human society threatens the environment capability and resulting in a social inequality, which is inequality between the cultural goals and institutional means. This can develop into a sociology phenomenon called anomie. The threats toward the environment will not happen if there are no inequalities in human’s economy resource and the competitions to achieve it. As such, we can state that changes in the environment will occur along with the occurrence of social inequality. The social process which will accompany this phenomenon is the occurrence of a variety of conflicts, be that between groups in a community, between communities, or between a community and groups with social economy domination, or which we call powerful people. Most of the social conflict occurs because of the inequalities and the competitions in people’s economy resource. Social structure has a role as the base of the social order which will also change and transfer because of conflicts and competitions. Its capability to regulate and control is not the same as how it was before. So the community and people will need to find and make a set of local value system as the local wisdom which is capable of overcoming any differences and inequalities that often create continuous conflicts.
