Abstract :
In Malay society, the word respect is often being associated with dignity and self-esteem. Islam has put the value of respect at the utmost sacred level because it illustrates the solemnity besides Allah. In accordance with that, this study aims to identify a Malay drama scenes in “Tersasar Di Jalan-Mu” that have the value of respect, and to analyze the scenes based on a conceptual framework introduced by Ali Jarishah (1990). 23 scenes related to the concept have been analysed and divided into seven different types of respect: blood, assets, dignity, cruelty, cleavage, women and responsibility. The finding reveal that the category of dignity is the highest frequency of 20 scene compared to other categories. The study also shows that women are often looked down and used by men
