Abstract :
A new computational method for solving Abel’s integral equation as a singular Volterra integral equation is presented. The method is based on Chebyshev polynomial wavelets approximation. The properties of Chebyshev wavelets are first presented. These properties are then used to reduce the singular Volterra integral equation to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. Numerical examples show the validity and applicability of the method.
