Abstract :
We examine heavy quarkonia (cc̅ and bb̄) characteristic properties in the general framework of non-relativistic potential model consisting of a Coulomb plus quadratic potential. The potential parameters are determined by simultaneous fit of the 1S states of both cc̅ and bb̄ some known experimental values and with the help of Virial theorem, so that the potential is flavor-independent. The obtained results are compared with the corresponding results from Cornell potential and with the available experimental data. The overall agreement with the experimental data is quite good, particularly for the mass spectra.
