Abstract :
Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting trunk and extremities. Until now, there is no standard effective treatment for PLC. Although it is mostly asymptomatic, patients may seek medical advice for other concerns such as the cosmetic look and worries of skin cancer. In this paper, a 25 year-old lady presented with multiple scaly papules characteristic of PLC which was confirmed by skin biopsy. After she failed topical steroids and systemic methotrexate therapy, she was started on minocycline. Significant improvement was seen in one the first month followed by complete clearance in the next month. Minocycline was discontinued and the patient was followed for 2 years without recurrence.
