Abstract :
The main objective of this paper is to formulate a power distribution planning model to solve the optimal sizing, timing, and location of distribution substation and feeder expansion problems simultaneously. The objective function of the model represents the present worth of costs of investment and energy losses of the system which take place throughout the planning time horizon. The objective function (worth of cost) is minimized subject to Kirchhoff s Current Law, power capacity limits, voltage drop, and logical constraints, by using a mixed-integer programming algorithm.
