Abstract :
The paper aims to assess the environmental impact of the nuclear power plant in the case of normal operation, where the concentration at different distances from the plant of some radioactive materials may be released from the stack of the plant, especially Iodine. Also the radiation doses to all organs of the body of the worker (at the exclusion zone) and population (low population zone) were calculated. The pathways through which this radiation transports to humans, such as ingestion and inhalation, were investigated. Radiological studies were carried out of the North Coast of Egypt (NCE), the meteorological data were collected and analyzed. The effective dose equivalent at the site boundary and annual individual and collective dose values from immersion, inhalation, ingestion pathways were estimated ,also the location of the maximum exposed individual (MEI), and lifetime fatal cancer risk to the population living around the proposed site due to the atmospheric pathways was calculated using the CAP88-PC dose modeling program. The code determines the radiological consequences of routine releases of radionuclides under framework of the system of dose limitation recommended by the International Commission of Radiation Protection (ICRP).
Keywords :
