Abstract :
From hexanic extract of aerial parts of Peucedanum ruthenicum M. Bieb(Apiaceae) collected from Mazandaran province of Iran, four triterpenoids namely taraxasterol, (psi)-taraxasterol, poriferasterol and (beta)-sitosterol have been isolated bycolumn chromatography, thin layer chromatography, and crystallization. Theirstructures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods (UV,IR, MS, 1^H and 13^C-NMR).
