Advances in endovascular strategies in treating aneurysm have made many believe that the open vascular surgeries are taking their last breaths. Indeed, development of superb surgical techniques with improved excellent results has proved them wrong. But in the current era, how can we achieve good results of aneurysm surgery? Here, we share our experience with the readers on how to become or educate a competent neurovascular surgeon. As neurosurgeons, we should learn that producing excellent surgical clipping results require cooperation of several factors which can be divided into two main categories of equal importance: making a centre of excellence, and educating talented vascular surgeons.
