Abstract :
Urban rights are equally classified within solidarity rights, such as environmental rights. However, there exist considerably different of point of views in studies concerning urban rights. For instance, the view focusing on globalization argues that urban rights are developed after the World War II and suggests realizing urban participation through governance, which is put forward by liberal democracy as a solution to representation crisis, and that is in fact a fundamental urban right. On the other side, the view theoretically developed by Lefebvre evaluates urban rights in a framework much further than having access to urban resources and liberty to participate in urban decisions. According to this second view, urban rights are conceptualized in a wider perspective that citizens having the opportunity to change themselves by changing the city.
