Abstract :
In today‟s world, where technology, now an integral part of our life, has gained on unprecedented momentum, cyberspace, probably a new space of life created by technology, stands on the top of the issues to be investigated regarding the development of the history of humanity down to its current state. One of the fundamental issues social scientists need to tackle is the analysis of the differences and similarities between the current period of the Information Age and the previous periods, and assessment of its current state and future. The approach of Michel Foucault, an intellectual whose ideas and work have shed light on our era, to the integration of knowledge and power, is undoubtedly a turning point for the investigation of the history of social sciences and the problematique of power and freedom in the history of humanity. At this point, we believe that it is necessary to examine the cyberspace, which can be regarded as “a new World”, on the basis of the discourse, knowledge and power problematique. Accordingly, advantages, disadvantages it has, obstacles, opportunities or threats it is faced with should be investigated.
