Abstract :
Heterobimetallic {[Ti](μ-σ,π-C≡CSiMe3)2}CuO2CCF3 (3) ([Ti] = (η5-C5H4SiMe3)2Ti) was synthesized by reacting the organometallic π-tweezer molecule [Ti](C≡CSiMe3)2 (1) with stoichiometric amounts of 1/n[CuO2CCF3]n (2). The structure of 3 in the solid state was determined by single X-ray structure analysis indicating that a mononuclear copper(I) carboxylate unit with a tri-coordinated copper atom is present. Within this building block the titanium alkynyl ligands are chelate-bonded to the group-11 metal atom.
