Abstract :
Development of panel flutter control is the objective of many previous researches using piezoelectric materials. These panels composed of distributed sensors and actuators attached to or integrated with the panel material to such a degree that distinction between control functionality and structure functionality is blurred. Volt signals detected from the distributed sensors activate the actuators circuit which in turn delivers a suitable value of voltage that is enough to overcome the external load exerted on the panel. These applied volts allow the piezoelectric actuators to exert an induced strain in the panel material; consequently a tensile in-plane load is achieved. These in-plane tensile loads shift the onset of flutter point to a value above the critical value of the dynamic pressure for the panel alone. In this research a new optimized models for flutter prevention is introduced . This new optimal control system is designed based on some recent experimental and mathematical results. The proposed system gives good results and succeeds in suppressing the flutter of the panel at its . operating condition with minimum weight.
