Abstract :
Maintenance generallyconductedin orderto extendlifecyle oftheproduct or system. Maintainability canbe described asthe measure ofmaintenance operation efficiency, which depends on location and condition of the targetedparts.In termsoftime, the fastermaintenancecould becompletedthe better. Beside that there are several factors that should also beconsidered including the accesability dan location of the parts and the fasteners used. The objective of thisstudy is to improve thepresentmaintainability indexmeasurement methods. Here, theDesign forAssembly isusedasaguidelinetoproducetheassemblycriteria.The resultfrom the study indicated that assembly havea great impact to the maintainability and therearea tremendousimprovement.
