EARTHQUAKE:DISASTERS DEMAND PREPAREDNESS

Earthquake disasters are of an increasing glo- bal health concern. More than 500,000 earthquakes are documented each year. Although the vast ma- jority of these are too small or too remotely located to be felt by humans, approximately 3000 are per- ceptible by human populations, of which 7 to 11 result in significant loss of life.
