Abstract :
In this work, kinetic and tncrpholcgy of high temperature hot corrosion of Rene 80 super alloy was studied using weight change curves;SEM, EDAX and X-ray phase analysis. Aftersample preparations and coating by Na2S0 4, the test was carried out at 800, 850, 900 and950°C Results show at 800 and 850°C, hot corrosion ofRene 80 superalloy follow paraboliclaw and the propagation stage does not occur. Most destroying attack by hot corrosion forRene 80 supcralloy is experienced at 900°C and the specimen is destroyed in 3 cycles. Thehot corrosion products of the Rene 80superalloy consisted of 3 layers of compact NiO,porous NiO and a mixtureofNiO+NiS. The results are well correlated with a well-knownmodel.
