Abstract :
2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-l, 3, 5-Triazine [1], is one of the derivatives oftriazine herbicide family. This compound has a high herbicidal effect and low toxicity forhuman and is useful for some plants, especially com, pineapple, and sugar cane. I, waspreviously synthesized in some organic solvents, for example, chlorobenzene, dioxane,acetone, diethyl ether, etc. However, in our method, we synthesized this compound withhigh yield and purity in water as the solvent and a Polyethylenglycol derivative (II) as thecatalyst.In fact, in this method, by using the catalyst in water as the solvent, we eliminated toxicwaites from organic solvents that were previouslyused for synthesizing I and increased theyield and purity in comparison with previous methods.
