Abstract :
Five hymenopteran species, Scizocera furcata Vill., Climbex qaudrimaclatus Muell., Hoplocampa flava L., Hoplocampa brevis Klug. And Eurytoma amygdale End. collecting pollen from three Hyoscyamus L. species were investigated palynologically by Light Microscopy and S Electron Microscopy. Two of them (Hyoscyamus albus L. and H. reticulates L) have 3-zonocolporate pollen class, While Hyoscyamus aureus L.(4-loxocolporate), Polar measurements ranged between 22.5-36 μm, H. reticulatus L..had the smallest polar measurements (20–34.5 μm), while H. aureus L. and H. albus L. (22.5 - 36 and 25.5–38 μm, respectively). Equatorial measurements ranged between 19-35 μm, with H. albus L. and H. aureus L. 20-35 μm and 22-35 μm, respectively, while H. reticulatus L. had 19 – 34 μm. P/E ratio ranged between 1.01-1.05. H. reticulatus L.had 1.01-1.05. H. aureus L. between 1.13 – 1.03 while H. albus L. had 1.15 – 1.09. Pollen outline was recognized, the equatorial view for all Hyoscyamus species examined was elliptic, the polar view was angular. P/E ratio was subtransverse or semitransverse. The morphology of ectoaperture structures (colpi, fastigium and margins) reflected no variation, the three species exhibited long colpi with distinct margins. The morphology of endoaperture structures (colpi, costae and margins) reflected distinguished variation; Hyoscyamus species had long colpi, H. albus L. and Hyoscyamus reticulatus L. had present costae and distinct margins, while H. aureus L. had no abscent costae and indistinct endoaperture margins. Hyoscyamus species in Jordan produces a large amount of whitish polliniferous dust and constitutes a potential source of pollen for different species of bees, providing an interesting field for germination studies.
