Abstract :
Professor M. P. Satijas latest contribution to DDC literature is “The theory and practice of the Dewey Decimal Classification System”.There is no doubt that DDC is the most popular library classification in the world. Among the many factors that have contributed to its popularity, support given by the writers on DDCis paramount. However, the importance of this factor does not seem to be discussed sufficiently. Wide usage of a classificationsystem is not possible without the assistance of writers who expose, clarify, evaluate and prepare guide- books, etc. on it.
